Here's an article outlining how the man utd loanees fared on their first outing for peterborough:

It says Tunnicliffe didn't have the best of days, however this should be a learning curve for him. Good thing it wasn't in a united shirt otherwise most of the 'fans' would be calling for his head already.

It says ex-united trio but as far as i was aware only Ajose actually left the other two are on loan??

yea i think thats an error on the journalist's part. Tunnicliffe and Wooton are on loan, 6 months I believe

by the sounds of it i think tunnicliffe was played a little out of position - on the wide part of a diamond formation - hope to see him getting more game time in the centre

He's not a wide player ! If they are gonna play him there what's point ?

If Fergie Jnr is playing Tunni wide right I am pretty sure its because some unnamed person has told him to do so.

might be similar to what fergie did with fletcher - slowly get him introduced to the pace of first team games - and play him out wider where there is more space and perhaps less responsibility

aquantumofsolskjaer, thats a very good observation actually and one that makes a lot of sense.

SAF has frequently introduced young players into the team in wider positions than they normally play; the Fletcher example has been cited by aquantumofsolskjaer, and SAF has already played both Smalling and Jones at FB. He has done this often over the tears, and my understanding is that at least part of the reasoning is to move them from the centre of the pitch where there is more responsibility and greater pressure, given that whoever controls CMF will more often than not control - and thus usually win - the match.

errata: "...over the tears" should of course be "...over the years"
