Now that the new season is almost upon us we get our Saturdays back!

No more:

Shopping for shoes with the wife.
Looking at endless shoes!
More shoe shops!
Oh look! A new shoe shop!
Can I go into this shoe shop?
You know what, I think I need more shoes.
Do you like my new shoes?
I like my new shoes.
Even though I just bought these new shoes, I feel I need more.
We can still open the door into the bedroom, I need more shoes to cover the floor so we cannot enter.
Before we head home do you mind if we nip into that shoe shop there, they are having a sale on SHOES!!!
ARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOES!!!!!!!

5 o'clock kick off's actually suit me fine. It means I still have the rest of the day to myself to do other things (yes this sometimes does include clothes shopping). The dinner issue is easy. Watch the game somewhere that does food (I can't get to games much. Trying to save for holidays etc). And if I'm going out straight after, I'll just either go watch the game in my going out clothes, or bring a change of top if I want to wear my Arsenal shirt. Oor the third option, watch it somewhere near my house like my local and nip home to change before going out.

It's really not that difficult

I really like to dress up at weekends before heading into town. Think David Bowie Ziggy Stardust period (although I've a better physique). So going to my local, hich can get a bit tasty, if you know what I mean, is not always the best option!

Also if we lose it tends to poor cold water on my raging enthusiasm for the night ahead. At least if we capitulate by 5, I've got a couple of hours to console myself, get my focus bac and show some character the coming evening!
