After today's disappointment against Chelsea and Wigan's enormous, shock FA Cup win, Villa are now right on the precipice again.
Tomorrow, I expect Al**on to roll over and let Norwich tickle their tummies. I expect Newcastle to finally produce at a completely lacklustre QPR and Sunderland-Southampton? I don't know, but one or both of them will pick up points, that much is certain.
So, it looks likely that our hopes of survival will once again depend on what Wigan can do. Can they win at Arsenal on Tuesday? The answer is YES, they can. They won there last season and if they can outplay Manchester City twice in three weeks, why on Earth can't they do the same to Arsenal again? That team simply do not know when to give up. They have always been and remain supremely confident of stopping up. Now the belief will be immense. If it does come down to a final day 'shootout' with Villa, who would back against Wigan? No, really, you wouldn't. If you take off your Claret and Blue specs, you really wouldn't.
Everything comes down to Arsenal on Tuesday. We are once again relying on the competence of others. I can't believe the arrogance of some Villa fans who think it's over. It may be but at the moment, it isn't.
Can Villa go down? - Very definitely!

Well Benteke will be banned for next game thats a big miss i dont think they believe they can win without him.
And that loss of belief is enough to gey them relegated

Relax Villains, Although I was very disappointed with Benteke for losing his head today and you guys gifting the West London Russian owned and bankrolled by Gazprom etc, we will have to beat Wigan bad by bucketload so fear not for your survival is in our hands despite me finding Villa seriously undermined by everything Austerity and Torries.

Lionbrad, you are completely correct. There is still a good chance we will go down.
I was very disappointed we could not hold out yesterday and at least get the draw. We played very well against Chelsea, and it was the some old result. Lampard must love playing us. We can harp on about the 'what ifs', 'we'd have won had Benteke not been sent off' etc, but there is no use.
Chelsea were very lucky yesterday. Now it all comes down to Tuesday night. The probability is that Wigan will not win against Chelsea, but Wigan do not listen to 'probabilities' as proven against City in the final. Anything can happen, but lets just hope and pray that Arsenal can at least get a draw against Wigan. If they do that, we can breathe easy.
I am starting to be won round by PL a little. Whilst overall this season has been a disappointment, if we play like we did against Chelsea more often, I'll be happy.

Not only do Wigan have to win at the Emirates, but they also have to defeat Villa.
Sunderland, Norwich, Southampton and Newcastle would all have to get three points from their next two games to finish above you too.
Sorry, but it's really unlikely!

why is it all down to wigan? there are other teams below us which means a lot of unlikely scenarios would have to happen for us to go down... Norwich don't seem to be in form. sunderland have difficult games and cant see them winning again this season, especially with their suspended players. Newcastle could easily slip up at qpr and be left with a difficult game with arsenal.
cant see wigan drawing at arsenal let alone winning... we have never lost at the jjb stadium in the prem either, wigan are poor at home. think we could do them even without benteke.
if villa went down from this situation i'd cry.

Today is another vital day and will be stress filled watching and listening.
Final weekend Newcastle and Sunderland play teams battling for top 4 so not easy, Norwich go to City.
Saints play Hoofball Stoke at Home which you would expect them to win.
Wigan were fantastic yesterday and rightly won the game. But how will they do Tuesday against Arsenal who can't afford not to win or the spu(r)ds are probably in and not them?. Unless they don't win at Stoke.
By tonight we could be totally relying on what Wigan do.
We have had a nervy season and it could well go down to the last game without Benteke. Remember we do have Bent though.
Think we will survive just hopefully, but not sure if my heart will take it to Next Sunday!!

Norwich are playing Albion who are utter dross at the minute. The scoreline tells it all. Goalkeeping howlers and an OG.

I've been spot on so far. Now THAT should be worrying.
