The chance to lay a few ghosts--gone

Now that the dust has settled and the gutted feeling has disappeared, i now find myself more frustrated that we missed the chance yesterday to make up for all the bad penalty decisions that have gone against us over the years.
Not sure if it was a pen , did not expect ref to give it, and like many others feel thay Knockaert was not the man for the job, but dont blame him.
What i do find upsetting is that in recent years we have had some shocking penalty decision go against us,from Forest recently, back to the playoffs against Swindon and Blackburn with many others inbetween.
The one time a dodgy decision actually goes for us we blew it.
Had it gone in it would have help make up for the all the other bad decisions, they say luck evens itself out, but this morning i find this hard to take.

I am very upset. Woke up this morning thinking that it had all been a bad dream, only to hear while driving down the motorway the commentary for those 30 seconds being replayed on the radio three times, one by Stringer on Radio Leic, plus a 5 Live one on radio 4 and the same later on Radio 2.
I keep telling myself it's only football, but it doesn't work...

I'm not haunted by the penalty so much as I am haunted by the last three wasted months. Automatic promotion, it is now clear, was well within our reach, with even a half-decent set of results. That's where any inquest should focus.

Don't worry fellas. Moneybags leicester will be able to "walk it" next season.

Yesterday was agony but I do agree with Malling. Jan 31st we were in 2nd place with 53 points from 29 games and although not aware at the time, we needed only 26 more points from the last 17 games for automatic promotion. Instead we only picked up a disappointing 15.

If someone told me after the wolves games that 26 more points were needed for a 2nd place finish, I think I'd of cracked open the champers that night

I'm getting quite tearful at the thought of walking it next year, with moneybags for goalposts.

thorney - I'm shocked we got a dodgy penalty given /for/ us as well. Perhaps the players were equally shocked and felt an urge to put the world right by completely mucking it up.

I actually thought we would score. He looked confident enough. Sometimes I just think we'd be better off losing 3-0 and having done with it
