I tried streaming matches a couple of years ago and i've got to say it was carp.
Clicking through a ton of links only for a page to load for 10 mins and then show you some k-league.
Has it got any better or is it still inconsistent at best?

liveonlinefooty.com - about £30 the season - every premiership and big competitions on there - the quality is excellent - doesn't break up or slow down - worth a try

You don't want to pay for any internet streaming services when with minimal effort you can find these links for free.
There is also little point in looking for the streaming sites themselves when sites such as Footballstreaming.info, Veetle and MyP2P.eu do all the work for you and compile daily lists of links to an immense arrays of matches. Download Sopcast and Veetle, and you will need no more. As long as your pc is up to the job, you will find many very good HD quality streams (Veetle especially).
So, two sites, two bits of software and a modicum of intelligence and no game of any consequence (and many of none!) will be available should you so choose.
Of course, by far the most practical and reliable sources if you cannot or do not go to the match yourself are the designated official match broadcasters, so if you can afford it there is no reason not to do so.

One of the few times i got it working was with Chinease commentary, was actually very funny listening to them pronounce the names.

Yeah, I watched it on a Korean stream once.
Those guys made a right mess of Park Ji-Sung's name!

I've found MyP2P with Veetle works pretty well most times. Obviously, you need a fast enough connection too.

Veetle and firefox/chrome works well. If you can change your OS to fedora/ubuntu you may find things better. Or make your PC dual boot - there are plenty of guides to tell you how.

Like I said, Using my p2p Veetle, a farhookin quick internet connection and mid top if the range laptop, the games still break up and aren't that good a quality when viewed in full screen.
It's better than it was 5 years ago, but still pretty sh**e.

Well try Sopcast, some people prefer Veetle but Sopcast works best for me....
Lastly on my p2p I tend to go for Fox Soccer or something American as you get the same commentary as sky sports then...
Try to go for the one with higher kbps as well, will help the stream go smoother...

Doesn't matter how fast your connection is if you don't have enough memory and a decent graphics card. I am assuming that you have at LEAST one 2ghz processor, but as you say you use a laptop I suspect your graphics card is simply not up to the job, as this is often a weak point of laptops.
As I know from personal experience that there are many very good quality broadcasts (and Myp2p.eu lists quality and language for each link), I believe any problem lies with your own system.
