To be honest I don´t like it when players are compared to former great players. I´ve lost count of the times that I´ve heard about a player being the next Maradona and amounting to little.
However in Benteke I believe that Villa have a player who is at least comparable to the great Drogba.
I´m not saying that Benteke is as good or ever will be as good as Drogba, but if there is a player in world football that most reminds me of Drogba then it´s Benteke.
Both players are beasts but they are also both very good on the ball and know how to score goals. That´s actually quite a rare combination and not easy to find at all.
If it were up to me I would bring Benteke to Chelsea this summer. He would complement our attacking trio very well as he can play but would also be able to use his brute strength and power which is something this Chelsea side definitely lacks.
By the way before anyone mentions Lukaku (as they inevitably will do) let me just say that I like Lukaku as a player and I believe that he does have a future at Chelsea. Having said that I don´t think that Lukaku is in the same class as Benteke. Certainly not yet anyway.
So if anyone wants to talk about Lukaku then plese create a seperate Lukaku article as this article is about Benteke.

If I was Chelsea manager I would have played Ba over Torres.
However as things stand I´m not even sure that Ba has a future at Chelsea.

Sideshow that´s a difficult question.
Depends who our strikers are next season.
As I´ve always maintained I rate Ba highly and he hasn´t been given a fair chance at Chelsea due to the Torres love-in by the Chelsea board and owner.
What happens with Ba remains to be seen but I would be more than happy for him to be at Chelsea next season as one of our two or three strikers in the squad.
Whether he will remains to be seen.

Agreed and I´ve acknowledged that in my article.
My point is that Benteke is only 22 and can get better, much better.
Was Drogba as good as Benteke when he was 22 ? I doubt it.
I understand that might be an unfair comparison as Drogba was a bit of a late bloomer but you get my point.

only way i see a place for him is if we get rid of Ba and since he has barely had a chance to play for us i would say its unfair
