I see he's likely going to City.
It's about time he was again recognised as a top class manager. What he did at Villarreal was nothing short of miraculous and he's doing a good job at Malaga too.
Had Riquelme's penalty not been saved by Lehmann then Villarreal could quite possibly have got to the Champions League final as who knows what would have happened after that? Now the club are happy to be in with a chance of scraping second place in the Segunda! He also masterminded a third place finish and in 2008 split the big two!
The media are always going to throw the Madrid season back in his face, but if you look at it rationally then you'll see it takes time to build a team and his results were not extraordinarily bad!
96pts in La Liga is enough to win it on most occasions. Fair enough the Copa Del Rey exit was embarrassing, but those who are also pointing out the last-sixteen defeat should realise it was not really further than they were usually getting!
Basically what I'm saying is it annoys me how Pellegrini's time at Madrid is viewed, had he been given time then I believe he would have eventually succeeded. I don't think many managers will get a lot of time there until they win the 10th European Cup, which is obviously a big issue for them!
Good luck if you go to City.
