The Jamie Carragher Appreciation Thread

Good Morning All

Jamie Carragher will play his last ever match for Liverpool Football Club this weekend against Queens Park Rangers.

Before I hand this thread over to a more worthy author I'd just liketo express my gratitude to Jamie for his contribution to LFC. His attitude, professionalsim and enthusiasm for the game have made him one of the few modern day professionals respected by fans from all Premier League cups.

His high point was Istanbul. For a defender to go in 3nil down at half time and come out for the second half like his life depended on it was a joy to watch and one of the key reasons why Liverpool lifted their 5th European Cup.

Anyway, Thanks Jamie - YNWA

Right, i'll let someone else conclude this message...... and who better than....

Scoring on his debut.

The ultimate WUM for the rest of his career.

A great solid club pro.

Not many of them left these days.

Not up there with Hansen and Lawro, but not far off.

treading over old ground but for me his defining image is Istanbul, with the cramped up legs and playing through the pain

didnt stop him being the first guy to catch up to Jerzy and celebrate

Not sure about that. Different type of defenders.

Maybe, just maybe not better than Hansen but better

than Lawro IMO.

Can't knock the bloke, used to enjoy watching him roosting his team mates if he thought they were'nt giving it their all.

Fair play to the guy; solid professional and a great servant to his club.

Carragher has been a class act and will go down amongst the greats, quite rightly.

Still I don't personally rate him as highly as either of those two, especially Hansen. There's no maybe about that IMO. Lawro was a superb defender who would've been regarded even further if it wasn't for the man next to him.

Not in way criticising Carragher. He's been a great servant and at his best a quality centre half. Just not as good as some others for me. No shame in that though.

Being on the airport shuttle bus waiting to board plane to Istanbul. 30 solid minutes of song "Team of Carraghers"
A great guy on and off the pitch. He said he would not cry, but there will be tears in the eyes of the supporters. YNWA CARRA
