I don't really blame footballers who let themselves go after they retire, they spend like 20 years on a strict diet and having to maintain a very high level of fitness throughout their careers. It's probably a relief to be able to sit back, beer in one hand, burger in the other, and watch TV, while not worrying about having to get up at 8am the next day to run for a few hours.
