The Damned United

After watching The Damned United last night on BBC4 for about the 100th time ( it just gets better every time ) I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any plans for make a further film charting the success of BC at Forest, the break up with Peter Taylor, the drinking the death of Peter Taylor, the retirement from Forest and everything else in the middle, as a Forest fan I think it would be a fantastic story to see on the big screen.

Would hope so but don't think they will

If he was American there'd be 100 films of his life story, but over here our film industry hates winners, and would rather make a film about Mr Darcy or ficking drug addicts...

Classic comment last night:

If it wasn't for me (BC) you'd still be manager at Burton Albion (to Peter Taylor)

So if it wasn't for his dad ... NLN would still be at Burton Albion? Sounds about right

Well he would, the only reason Derby appointed him was because of his dad. The same reason applies for the reason why they will not sack him as no manager whose side haven't moved in 5 seasons would still be manager of a football club, especially one in the championship!

There are apparently no plans for a follow up film. As incredible as their achievements at forest were, I'm not sure it has the high drama of Cloughs doomed spell at Leeds United. After they parted ways at Forest, aside from a league cup, Brian kept a steady ship at Forest but wasn't nearly as effective without Taylor, not sure that would make great viewing

I did hear rumours of a sequel and I know the writer is keen to do a follow up book. When I find out more I will post..

So what you're saying Blackstarr is that winning the league cup isn't all that?
