The very bad start to the campaign is not getting any better and looking at the SC at lunch, could we be looking at another innings defeat?
What odds on us not winning a match this year?
Such an anticlimax after last season.
Oh dear!

Begining to look like Derbyshire have replaced Worcester in Div 1 in more than one way. Shame was hoping they'd have a good season after all the work the club has done. The gap between the two divisions continues to grow at pace.

Out of our depth
Its like our ill-fated premiership season all over again!
There's only madsen & chanderpaul that's good enough, plus Hughes if he fires.
Reality check for the likes of redfearn, whiteley & poynton... But does mean these players are more likely to stick around and keep developing the club in the next few years.

I just don't get Hughes opening. His opening career is based on one innings, ok a huge and great one, but based on one. He's not an opener. He's got one score all season, one. If there's ever a middle order player it''s him. Waste of talent.

Borrington should open with Hughes or Whiteley at 6.
It wouldn't make too much difference to the end result though
I didn't realise what a leap it was from div 2 to div 1 - we're up against 4 or more recent international players every bleedin' game!

Welcome to the world of a Worcester fan. The leap from Div2 to Div1 is huge. In the top tier the bowling is high class in every game. It's a long old season when things go wrong. But who'd have out money on Derby being where they are now this time last year. It's a slow process to get settled in Div1 but you guys have done well to get there and a season there will do your players the world of good. Might be a tough season but it sets your players up well for the future.

The club is financially well-managed too with a thriving academy. Most of the larger counties are making huge losses - it's just like the football - try to run the club as a viable business and it's nigh on impossible to compete!

Yeah i agree. At Worcester we are starting to make money and record good profits but doing this way is harder than the teams with TMG's who throw money around. How some of them manipulate the wage cap is terrible. The smaller clubs are the ones making money as we run it like a business, unlike a few teams i could mention who think they're Man UTD with the way they throw money around. Build a good academy and watch home grown players perform.

Agreed - at least Yorkshire produce good youngsters... Glad to see them doing well this season - though Ballance of course was raised by Derbyshire, and Yorkshire finished runners-up to Derbyshire last season
