Is anyone else feeling oddly proud of the team today? I think we showed a real desire and hunger to win, and having watched the Woolwich game as well, I cant say the same about them. I think we can hold our heads high. Let the Arsenal fans gloat, the fact is that if it wasn't for some dodgy decisions in a few of their games (Norwich penalty comes to mind), we could easily be the ones celebrating today.
Despite how this sounds, this isn't me blaming our fifth place finish on our bad luck, we could have had top four wrapped up weeks ago had we not dropped points against Fulham, Wigan and Everton. However, as some people on here are suggesting i don't think that we have thrown it away ourselves either. We have been fairly consistent throughout the season and these slip ups happen to even the best teams.
I guess what i am trying to say is that we were one decision off top four this season, and as gutting as it is, Arsenal are no better than us. Lets ignore the inevitable gloat fest completely, and focus on what our club has achieved this year.
