Mission To Moyes.

Quite simple really - Sir Alex has sadly hung up his chewing gum and divers watch and now David Moyes must come in and hit the ground running - we hope.

So, what do you think he should/will do to preserve our wonderful record of competing for trophies at home and abroad, whilst putting his own stamp on the club????

First issue - Wayne Rooney. I think Moyes will stand firm, sit him down and make him realise that he`s already reached the promised land and that the only way from here is down. I don`t think this situation is as cut and dry as it seems, Sir Alex dropping him and playing him out of position then deciding to retire will have been the root cause of this, in my opinion.
However, if he wants to be a diva and Moyes wants to instantly gain the respect of the dressing room and the fans, he should get rid. I don`t expect it to get to this stage and i fully expect him to stay.

Transfers - Coming in will be fellaini, possibly baines and i also expect a couple of others. Of course bale or ronaldo would be nice! I just hope he addresses our long standing midfield issues.

Going out - Nani, unless he signs a new deal, which hinges on whether Moyes actually rates him. The same goes for Anderson and possibly Macheda, Bebe and even Valencia and Young.

A new deal for Rio should be on the cards.

Backroom staff - i think it`s a given that Mickey Phelan will go and steve round will come in as number 2. I`d like to see Rene stay and also Eric Steele, but the buck stops with Moyes. It woud also be nice to see beckham come back in to do some sort of coaching and ambassidorial work. Phil Neville and Nicky Butt have also been mentioned.

Lastly our system. I personally think he`ll go for the more conventional 442/4411 system with reliance on wingers and our full backs supplying the front men, even though Sir Alex has pulled way from this recently - this could also have bearing on the futures of Rooney, Nani Valencia etc.

So there you go. Just my thoughts.

Please feel free to constructively contribute.

Cheers.

why will Fellaini and Baines come to United just because Moyes was their manager. They are hardly United class players. Moysie had the players at Everton because they were what he could afford. Hes entering a completely new level now. Do RM Barca Chelsea City Munich Juve want them too?

-----------------
This

The other thing people are not understanding is that him bringing Everton players with him will be taking a chance with one our biggest strengths. Our Unity and togetherness

Moyes isn't gonna bring Fellaini or Baines with him unless there is an urgent need for him. And until he has had a chance to meet with every player in the squad to see where they are at there is no way under God's Earth is he going to force is ex players on them. It could all go pear shaped very quickly

The best thing he could do is run with what we have now and make his mind up as he goes. It will show he has trust in the current players rather than the opposite if he fills the dressing room with Ex-Evertonians in particular

He should be looking to give every player at the club their chance rather than starting next season with Fellaini in midfield ffs

Be patient

I think you underrate Fellaini. The guy could play for any top club and is very much deserving of a move to a club like United.
He'll change a lot of minds if he joins us next season and offers us something we don't have at the moment.

Fellaini is incidental to the point I'm making

We are the PL champions. Moyes is not gonna do as some suggest and come in, dump half the squad, bring a few Everton players with him and buy Bale

Gawd It's unreal how people could think he would do anything to jeapordise what is already a winning formula

Yes, as we have all said, the football has been quite dull at times this season but that does not mean we don't already have the players to play a more entertaining style with the odd tweak possibly

But

If he brought in Fellaini and Baines and played them ahead of Evra and Clevs/Ando from the off, then that for me would be a recipe for disaster. Moyes is coming into a championship winning club and needs to tread very carefully at first.

Al these silly ins and out articles like

Sell Rooney Nani Ando Young Macheda Bebe Welbeck

Buy Bale Ronaldo Fellaini Baines Gundogan

will just destroy the the togetherness we had under Fergie (Which we both know is what many point to as our biggest strength)

What better way to get the dressing room instantly onside is to actually tell them he is happy with what he has, or at most, sign maybe one non-Everton player to a position we feels we are weak in but doesn;t put them in right away ahead of our current squad players

I can understand a manager taking over a club in a total mess that takes players with him, fine, but we are the champions and I have no doubt Moysie isn't foolhardy to come in and start chucking his weight about dumping players and replacing them instantly

I see your point but we must reinforce in midfield. We`ve been left wanting so many times and overrun because, apart from Carrick, our engine room isn`t anywhere near as good as it should be.

I think Fellani could be a starter and from the way he's talking he sounds interested. I reckon the club will sanction at least one big signing to give everyone a boost.

One big signing fair enough - but what do you class as a big signing? A ronaldo, bale, fabregas or falcao, if Rooney goes, is what i would class as a big signing.

I think fellaini is a necessity

I think that it will take 25m to get him, so I'd class that as a big signing. The players that you have mentioned I would class as being huge signings. Difficult to get, but they could happen.

I still think that there is a chance that Bale might happen, but I suspect that would only be if Rooney leaves and even then, I doubt we would get him and Fellani.

Realistically I think that we will probably go for one or the other. I think that if Bale is up for grabs then he will be the priority. However, if he decides to stay, it could be Fellani with an eye on Bale the following year. I do think that there is a genuine interest in both players though.

Yes we need midfield re-inforcements but don't you think Moyes should work with the current midfield first before making a decision on what we need?

It's a new era at United and for all we know, Anderson for example may just become the 'signing' we need(Or he may not)

The point is I want our current players showing Moyes what they can do

Another is Tom Cleverley. Do I think he's good enough? I do not know. This season has been his first fit season in 10 years so you simply cannot judge him yet. Everyone wants to of course but what gives us all the most pleasure? Seeing a 30m superstar making at United or a product of our academy. Clevs has been with us since he was 12

I think David Moyes should come in and work with what he has, Sort out Wazza and Nani as a priority and then work out what we need after that.

Yes, we may fall behind Chelsea and City temporarily but long term, it will be far far better in my humble opinion

For me that is the United way. Moyes won't be under any pressure of the sack. As Gary Neville said just tonight, if things are going wrong on the pitch, United get rid of players, not managers

Give the guy time to look at what we have, what state they are in, what their expectations are, how they react to his expectations, and then make decisions

Like you. I'm a massive advocate of us needing midfield strengthening. I would love Gundogan for example but, to keep the harmony of the current squad, he needs to make sure he times it right. And if that isn't this Summer. I'll wait.

Nothing would please me more than for Cleverley and Anderson to be our regular midfield pairing - they were starting to look the part at the beginning of the 11-12 season, til the inevitable happened to Ando and lard boy davies mullered Clev.

If Rooney stays, i think we`re only in need of one or two additions. And after last nights showing i think Larnell Cole should feel aggrieved if Moyes doesn`t start to blood him. Fergie was also talking up Januzaj`s first team potential, then there`s Nick Powell too
