A little lunchtime fact

Out of the 10 teams who have been promoted in the football league this season (including Palace or Watford), 7 have changed managers since Nigel Pearson was appointed Leicester manager in October 2011.

Hull City - Steve Bruce - appointed June 2012

Watford - Gianfranco Zola - appointed July 2012

Crystal Palace - Ian Holloway - appointed November 2012

Bournemouth - Eddie Howe - appointed October 2012

Doncaster - Brian Flynn - appointed January 2013

Yeovil - Gary Johnson - Appointed January 2012

Gillingham - Martin Allen - Appointed July 2012

Rotherham - Steve Evans - Appointed April 2012

Only Cardiff, Port Vale and Bradford have changed their manager prior to Nigel Pearson returning to Leicester, and all were in the 2011 pre-season.

But of course, clubs can only be promoted if a manager has spent years at a club....

Foxy you been on the JG pills by the way where is our man?

My view is like most fans of the club i expected a high level playoff position with an improving team strengthened in January.

That view was changed when we hit form briefly and hit second place and i expected us to push on.

The total collapse of our season with regulation form poor loans and sending Schlupp off at a key time. The scraping through to the play offs on goal difference is a massive disappointment.

I am now told by the apologists and supporters of the great leader that was good season and the best we could of expected "Bar hooks".

Now i except that NP should be given the opportunity to put this right. But this seasons team has been his as will next seasons. The stability is also balanced with a lack of a suitable replacement available.

But i am bored with people telling me what a great season this has been and how i am so unreasonable to expect more from the best paid manager in this division with resources to match.

So, if people don't agree with you Nev, they're Pearson's apologists?

The one thing we can agree on is that we're ALL disappointed in the final outcome of the season but not all of us have the same knee-jerk sack the manager we're all doomed my God it's the end of the world as we know it mentality as some on here appear to.

Some of us are a little more realistic and HOPEFULL that next season, the team will be stronger and the players and management team will have learned from mistakes made this season and push on to a better finish and eventual promotion.

Anyone who simply expects promotion because of how money has been spent on the team and manager should speak to a few QPR fans and ask them how their season of spending big panned out.

Vulpes and Fox_14 -

Nev: "My view is like most fans of the club i expected a high level playoff position with an improving team strengthened in January".
- I didn't expect a high level playoff position. I hoped we'd be competitive for the playoffs, autos would have been an unlikely bonus.

"That view was changed when we hit form briefly and hit second place and i expected us to push on".
- a team does not get to second place in January by hitting form briefly.

Would anybody have said "no thanks" to being offered last August the following scenario - beat Forest at the City Ground in the last game of the regular season to clinch a playoff spot, then have a spot kick in the 96th minute of the second leg of the playoff to send us to Wembley?

No apologies here, what a fantastic season that was, it had every thing for football fans bar the promotion.

Excellent work NP and everyone at LCFC, roll on next season.

Notice you didn't answer about Kaspar Nev, which game were you watching exactly?

Oh Blue i wasn't going to bite obviously not the same game/season/planet your on mate!

So you must have just plucked kaspar's name out of the air to push some blame onto then?

True i know you don't go to matches but i assume you watch the odd one? Or do you wait for Nigel to snuggle up to you and give his views on the match
The goal that was scored in the last minute Watford was as much Kaspers fault for a rush of blood as it was knocky' or the defenders who failed to stop the attack.

I hope that clears it up for you have a look at the highlight package

"No apologies here, what a fantastic season that was, it had every thing for football fans bar the promotion"

Which would be fine if promotion was not absolutely essential for the long term stability of the club and the ambitions and financial investment of the owners. Oh, and it wasn't a 'fantastic season'. so don't mug yourself off by claiming it was. We had an average start to the season, and good middle and an absolutely awful end - this season was no more than moderately satisfying at best, mediocre at worst, and we are still no further closer to what every Leicester fan should realistically expect - promotion.

"The goal that was scored in the last minute Watford was as much Kaspers fault for a rush of blood as it was knocky"

Absolutely agree Kasper had no need to rush out of his goal, shaped like a starfish - what was he trying to achieve? Having said that, he was BY FAR our best player last season so I don't hold it against him.

Foxello - this is where you come across as living in cloud cuckoo land, stating "what every Leicester fan should realistically expect - promotion".

Hope for perhaps, but not realistically expect. Reality is that there are probably 10 clubs in the Championship with serious aspirations for the Premier league due to be joined by 3 more who will want to bounce straight back. We don't outmuscle many of these financially between parachute payments and wealthy owners.

I'm also going to disagree with Kasper being our best player - it was Wes. Kasper 2nd though.

Or as great manager said last season - delusions of grandeur!

Every fan hopes for promotion, NO fan can expect promotion, another legacy of the incredibly stupid Sven era, thank goodness the owners corrected their mistake before it was too late and maybe a clue as to why Foxello and others come across as so bitter!
