Guess what he's talking about on his show today?
The clown has come out with this - 'AVB did worse than Harry Redknapp last season'.
Also bragging that he was right with his 'AVB hasn't got a clue' rhetoric. Hmmm and this from the same person that thought QPR would finish above Spurs.
Adrian canting Durham!

infact in the games bale didnt play in, we pretty much continued scoring at the same rate (roughly 2 a games), as the games he did score in.

no groovy. the lazy argument is that if you take out bale then we finish mid table, when the reality is no one has any idea what would happen if we had lost bale for lots of the season.
------
This. Although I'm pretty sure we wouldn't end up in mid-table. I think we'd be a few places worse off. However what people don't seem to understand when they say that without Bale we'd be mid-table, is that someone would be playing in Bale's place. They seem to think that no Bale literally means there'd be only 10 Spurs players playing.

agree spurtle, its also bizarre when people say if bale leave we are finished, when the reality is that we will get a whole load of money for him, which would then assumingly be spread across the squad to strengthen some key areas...... we may not be as good, but we wouldnt be finished.
really is wierd.

Yep Chronic, the doubters always seem to forget that one.
When good clubs lose great players they adapt, because they are good teams with good players all round. Someone would take up Bale's position, others would be forced to step up, and like you say that's not even taking into consideration new players we could get for the Bale money.
We managed to stay in the top 4 for half of the 09/10 season before Bale was introduced into the left back role on a regular basis after Benny got injured. Suddenly Bale becomes this world class goalscoring machine and we're rubbish without him. I don't get it.
