Captain

I'm pretty sure that even though we on JA606 are a considerably behind the BoltonNuts forum in all things Bolton Wanderers, it has still slipped under the radar that Fabrice Muamba confirmed in the Bolton News today that Zat Knight will be our club captain from now on! Yep, gone are all our dream team line ups of a returning Dawson or other and Wheater. We will have Zat leading the line and maybe even trying to lift the Championship cup without falling over.

I'm liking everything DF has been doing so far, but I don't like this!

*Apologies to BoltonNuts if this is something that has already been discussed and resolved in the last 24hrs!

Please please don't renew his contract after this year then at least it's only for one year, never mind the PS4 i'm counting the day's till his contract runs out.

DF must see something he likes, he might turn himself around. Knight can have his good days, consistency is needed, have faith.

It was to be expected. Vice captain has taken over for the last 3 captains now. (Nolan, Davies & now Knight).

It's not as if he's new to being captain though. He's been doing it for the last 3 months of the season.

Note the name change though.

Frosty, Knight has one year of a two year contract to run.

He may make a mistake a game, which isn't good but from all accounts he has improved vastly under Freedman, so it may not be such a bad move to give him t he armband as he has already had it for several months, barring the games that SKD played.

Give him a go and see how he does. He's a hard working lad, enthusiastic and vocal and might just be the leader on the field that we need. As others have said with a solid CB partner he can play pretty well, like when he and Wheater were on song in the second half of our last prem season. I think he's a confidence player though, meaning if he does something right he gets better but sometimes if he drops a clanger he falls apart for the rest of the game. However with the armband on maybe that's just what he needs to prevent that from happening

I agree with LPP. We also have a strong manager who will take and make tough decisions. So in terms of the dressing room we don't necessarily need someone to keep players in check as we have since BSA.
