Just seen on The Mirror's website that we have just entered talks with SWP not sure how much truth the paper talks but Coyle did state in Thursday's press conference that SWP was a target and Mancini has also come out and said SWP is too good to sit on the bench and needs to play this season.
So my question is do you guys think he is good enough to replace Lee this season? And what deal would we prefer a season long loan or a full time switch?
Bearing in mind Lee will be back in action in 9 months and SWP would cost us 4m in fees and is at the wrong end of his 20's now.
Also feel free to offer your views on a better option to replace Lee.
SWP the right man to replace Lee?

SWP is still a very good squad player at city and he'd get about 20 games a season.

So is that why he only got 7 games last season?
No Lee isn't as good as any of them players but neither is SWP.
Lee is better than SWP, no doubt about it. Lee gets plaudits every week, whereas SWP just gets a big paycheck.
Is SWP's wages worth it? no they are not.

SWP would play mainly int he cups and the odd league game.
Maybe 20 games is stretching it but he'd get 12-15

I think SWP is the right person to replace Lee. When I spoke to Pratley last week, he told me that we were after him anyway.
Top Dawg, I think the OP is saying in regards to Boltons style. Lee certainly uses the ball a lot better than SWP but doesn't have anywhere near as much pace as him.
I think it would give Bolton a different dimension with SWP. He is always a good outlet ball

If Lee was as good as you think, he wouldn't be playing for Bolton!

Sorry to state the obvious, but has it occurred to you that good players don't just play for 4 or 5 clubs? Bolton brought Eidur Gudjonsson to England, as an example.
He's only a young lad and hasn't peaked yet.

not worth a big fee or wages, would rather go back for rodrigo much younger and versatile, also a lot younger, may come on a permanent deal

Topdawg you seemed to miss my point here i was asking Bolton fans if they thought SWP would be good enough for our team not if he was good enough for City's team or if Lee was good enough for the City team.
Lee is an amazing player much better than SWP any day of the week, I am unsure who you actually support but if it is City then you must know SWP started just 2 games for City last season.
I believe that Lee would struggle to get into the City midfield but that is because they have around 250m worth of the best talent in the world, but Lee would walk into most other teams midfield, Liverpool were linked with him last season and thankfully for us he signed a new deal to stay here and continue his learning curve.
Lee is only 23 and will be the next big name to leave our team for a big fee.
Rodrigo is a good shout but i don't think he intends to return in any way loan or signing for us full time as he really wants to make a go of it at Benfica.

Sign him. It's a no brainer for 4 millon quid or loan.
Lee isn't going to kick a ball this season so besides strikers, it's a problem solved.

He is probably to scared to join us Bricks with all the broken legs going round at the minute we have 2 so far in a week and they say things come in threes lets hope Levante take it easy on us tonight

Should be more like an exhibition game tonight bwfc forever so I dont expect bone breaking.
I think it's where we go Riga from, so our players will be in more danger from being hit by a flying dummy

Only the top 5 clubs have good players? Here's me thinking that Okocha, Djorkaeff, Campo, Hierro, Anelka and Nicky Hunt have played for us in the recent past.
