I agree he's a championship winner who has European and international experience and still a useful centre back for another 2 years or so, gives them time to groom a younger centre back to take over, not a bad piece of business.

I think you're mistaking Brent for Wenger.

Unlike some of the above posters I've actually watched him quite a bit this season. He's played well, provided good cover for Kompany for a lot of games. Good singing as back up centre half IMO.
