Off topic but just looking for personal experiences.
Does anyone on here work on recruitment? If so, what is it like, the environment, etc?
I am considering applying for a role in it, but have been put off by the cut throat reputation of it, and the type of people it attracts (walking over others for a new lead, and so on).
Does the reputation hold any weight?

Do you have any idea why the turnover is so high in the industry, Admin1?

---------------------------------------
It isn't the most stimulating of jobs and is very departmentalised. The value of the data/database is very high which results in major competition between agencies and although people for the most part don't steal data, there is a real culture of poaching staff from rival agencies with a view of getting an "in" or inside info.

Be careful there are some scam running recruitment companies about. Never pay a company to get a job.

It's basically sales.
If your used to working in a target driven environment which has extreme highs and lows then go for it.
