So the first in a double header of international games for England. Fills you with excitement doesn't it?
The game is "notable" for it being Ashley Cole's 102nd cap, and he will lead the team out as captain. The Arsenal academy graduate has long been in the top 5 left backs in the world, and has multiple Premier League winners medals, FA Cups and a Champions League winners medal to back this up. Shame he is seen by most as a complete caaaant, otherwise this may have been a special night of celebration.
Hopefully what we won't see tonight is a repeat of the incidents that marred and eventually ended the last meeting. Back in 1995 these two nations met at Lansdowne Road, but organised violence erupted in the stands and both teams had to leave the field of play after just 27 minutes, with Ireland 1-0 up.
England could start with two Arsenal men on the wings, with Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott expected to be involved. Alex McCarthy could make his debut while Daniel Sturridge could be the choice to lead the attack.
Ireland go with;
Forde; S.Coleman, O'Shea, St Ledger, Kelly; Whelen, McCarthy, McGeady; Walters, Long; Keane.

Wow. That's rich. There are pages of utter shíte on this site and you remove my comment because I make a harmless joke about the irony of the term 'organised violence'.

An organised violent attack is not something to joke about, imo. The Anglo-Irish atrocities are fresh in the minds of many, many of whom will have been personally affected.

All that violence was started from the English,hopefully they will have coped on and not start it again
