Bell to open in Ashes

It wouldn't surprise me if Bell opens in the Ashes.

He's traditionally been a top 3 batter for Warwickshire, and played very well at number 3 when Trott was injured a couple of years ago.

For me Bairstow has earned his place, and after Root got out to the new ball twice against NZ, I think he should remain in the middle order where he has been playing so well.

So I'd be tempted to go :

Bell
Cook
Trott
Pietersen
Root
Bairstow
Prior
Broad
Swann
Finn
Anderson

Bench :

Tremlett, Monty, Carberry
