I will keep this short...
Mark Hughes is the favourite to take over at Stoke City...
I was not a fan of Pulis to be honest, but come on, is this really a step up? Hughes is an awful manager who has failed at several clubs (whilst spending truck loads of money) so how is he going to make this work!
I never thought I would say this but I genuinely feel for the Stoke City supporters
there is always a fool that will take a punt on a guy like him because of his name.... this is doomed to fail.
Stoke fans (if indeed any exist on here) who would you rather?
anybody?
Hughes that Man

QPR was an absolute train wreck. The owner had no idea what he was doing, he wanted Hughes to build a team to hold their own in the league in one season, without considering that no player who aspires to anything other than a big pay packet would want to play for them.
I doubt many people could'be made that project work.
On the plus side, at least they won't play Rugby anymore, so we might be able to beat them. <cheer>

Hughes will take them from relative lower midtable safety to a relegation struggle.

They where hardly mid table this season. Only safe with like 2 games left in the season.

Only this season. But yeah, can be admitted that Pulis even managed to get worse results year on year after all that spending.
My point was that Sparky will accelerate that trend (that's what I think).

Hughes time at QPR was really bad, but Harry hasn't done any better.
Take that out and his Managerial career isn't bad. He was decent at Wales, good at Blackburn, did alright at City and did a good job at Fulham. He left Fulham and had he stayed and did to them what he did to Blackburn he would not be getting the response he is getting.
QPR was a 'epic fail' but managers such as Klopp and Arsenen Wenger have managed sides that got relegated under their stewardship. I am not saying Hughes is as good as them, I am just showing an example of good coaches in their earlier careers getting things wrong.

I think Hughes really has to prove himself - he's done ok jobs at most of his clubs, but of course the QPR is the one that sticks out as not being great. For Stoke's sake, hopefully he has learnt from that, and without wishing to insult Stoke fans, is the aim to play more attractive football and stay 'fairly comfortable' in mid-table, or do you think European places are a realistic goal?

There are more Arsenal and Spurs fans (and now West Bromwich Albion fans) on here than Stoke fans.
Tony Pulis and Mark Hughes - two managers I would NEVER want to see at the Albion.
The Stoke fans that used to be on here really were a decent fair-minded bunch. You'll find them all online at Oatcake now.
Igor Biscan, you need < cheers > without spaces =

No oatcake munchers on here, you need functioning fingers to be able to type (only kidding guys!).
But this is what they make of Hughes appointment:
