Just heard we are playing Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on July 24th.
Rhys McCabe plays for them.
What sort of reaction is he going to get?
He will be the first players to play against us who left the club during the summer.

i doubt they would give us 4 thousand, everybody wants money money money and we have the paying fans who will pay to see any old rubbish as long as they are wearing the red white and blue

I think you might be surprised polloks. For Sheffield Wednesday there is more than money at stake. Remember this is the end where the 96 Liverpool fans died
We can't sneeze in our ground - as you can probably understand.
There has been talk of consideration being given to standing areas in football grounds, but I can tell you that that is something that will never happen at Hillsborough again.

pretty sure they could sell tickets to a different part of the ground safely before the date well in advance safely?
Ibrox was the first modern stadium in britain ,we were at least 10-15 years before everybody else,Ibrox was basically all seater in 1980 abut 10 years before hilssborough, obviously changed made beacuse of the ibrox disater, thinking about it now we spent all that money on the stadium in 79 and were rubbish for 10 years,we even let aberdeen go ahead of us ffs
before that Ibrox held 100,000 easily although there were resticitions from the 60's onwards that limited capacity to about 85,000
it must have been mental in those crowds but i would stick to my wee plastic seat rather than a bottle of whisky flying past you and puddles of pash everywhere

It's not something we do. The away fans just have the Leppings Lane end. That's it.
I used to like standing when I was younger, but I too prefer my plastic seat these days. I might even go to this friendly myself. I don't usually bother with home friendlies, and wish it was at Ibrox, a ground I have never been to. Last time I was in Scotland was about 10 years ago for pre-season matches at Dunfermline and Kilmarnock.

I'm guessing the match tickets won't be too expensive. Just be your travelling expenses and a bit of money.

i have nothing against sheff wed
i actually liked them in the early 90's when they got to 2 cup finals but sadly lost to arsenal on both
good club
i feel sorry for them aswel that their stadium is where the disaster took place.
just out of curiosity, since the leppings lane end was made all seater. have liverpool every had fans in the bottom part where the disaster happended?
as for mccabe
hope his leg explodes
i didnt expect them to play in division 3, all Rangers fans wanted was for them to sign over then be sold, ensuring the club got a transfer fee
i think it will be a good game and day out too.
id happily share a pint with the wed fans if i come down for it

^^ SuperNacho, we have played Liverpool at home numerous times since 1989, but not since 1999. The bottom tier of Leppings Lane was closed for two years and then made all seater. Liverpool fans have been in the bottom tier.
As for McCabe, I think we did come to an arrangement regarding a fee, but the clubs have never made it public how much £££ were involved.
