A great servant to the club in former years, this appointment is somewhat surprising given his criticism of the the player's attitudes in recent days

Now... do we reckon his new role has anything to do with his recent outburst?

If so, was he appointed because the higher ups think what he said was a poignant reminder to the playing staff and fans of where our aspirations really lie?

Or did they just think bringing him into the fold would shut him up
