Evening guys,
I'll cut straight to the point, I know for a fact some of you won't believe me, but I think this will be interesting for some of you..
My dad was in Dubai earlier on in the year.. sometime in March I believe. I recall it being the week wee beat Bayern Munich 2-0 when Wilshere was injured?
Anyway, Bale was staying in the same hotel as my old man (Jumeirah Beach Hotel). I used to go there a lot and my dad continues to do so, you are near enough guaranteed to see a few well known Premier League Footballers whenever you're there.
Despite being a Arsenal fan, my dad approached Bale and asked him to have some pictures with my younger brothers, which he did. Afterwards, my dad got talking to him about Football, discussing all things Spurs & Arsenal etc, I'm told he's a top bloke and they got on very well. They actually ended up speaking three or four days on the trot around the pool.
He told my dad that for as long as AVB is at Spurs, he will Not be.He has so much respect for the bloke. Now, my dad is very confident and isn't afraid to ask controversial questions. So he asked him ''What if AVB leaves & Spurs still aren't winning trophies?'' He then replied something along the lines of 'I'd have to see what options I have but I'd be tempted for another challenge as I want to win trophies.''
One other thing he mentioned is that there is quite a big divide in the current Spurs squad, and has been for some time. Examples are when the players are eating lunch, there are two large groups that do not tend to mix very often.
I am setting myself up for wumming here, but back in March, even Gareth was adamant that we would finish above you. He said that Wilshire is one of the toughest opponents he's played against. They also had a laugh about the fact that he's called Thursday 'Spursday' in reference to our Europa League fixtures.
Apparently the Spurs squad were also convinced that Modric would be signing a new contract, and it came as a massive shock when he moved to Real Madrid.
He also denied being a West Ham fan and said that's a misunderstanding.
Finally, one time as he got off his sunbed, the towel he had wrapped round him fell down let's just say it didn't go un-noticed.
Kindly, Bale also sent the old man a signed Spurs shirt for him to pass on to his gooner mate..
Anyway, make of that what you like.. do feel free to take the p!$$
Some of you may be interested, some of you may not, many of you probably do not believe me.. It's a very boring Friday night for me and I would have posted this back in March if I was signed up then.
Sorry this is on the arsenal board I can't post on the spurs one
