is Wayne Rooney coming? or going?

Who would turn Wayne down? Arsenal boss Wenger drops hint over move for Rooney and claims Fabregas is unsettled at Barca

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he would not turn down the chance to sign unsettled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
The England striker, who scored a brilliant solo effort against Brazil on Sunday night, has signalled his desire to leave Manchester United in the summer.
Last month, Sportsmail broke the news that Arsenal are growing increasingly confident they are able to finance a record-breaking move for Rooney.

And Wenger has dropped the biggest hint yet that he is ready to make a move for the 27-year-old.
‘Rooney could be an interesting player for everybody in the world, who would turn him down?’ Wenger told Al Jazeera.

This same talk of Wenger knowing he HAS to spend happens every year, yet it hasn't happened yet. But as you say, you can hope,

I can't see us signing Rooney. Yes, Wenger might break the wage structure, but not for Rooney whose wages are £600k p/w.

Wilshere is a decent player but I fear he's Hargreaves Mark II

Really? Wasn't it deflected over the keeper? A bit of a fluke if you ask me.

Was it similar to the wonder goal against City off his shin pad

Suddenly Rooney has become a quality player among Arsenal fans.

I personally do not think we will buy him. I am not his No 1 fan by a long shot but I can see the benefits. I will also go as far as saying he will fit well in our team.

Many Man U fans dismiss Arsenal even with Rooney but this year (2013) our run in was brilliant. In the last 12 matches (I think) we won 10 and drew 2. We have a very good team IMO. Just need 3-4 new signings. A goalie to push Shez, another defender (even though in 2013 Mert and Kos had the best partnership in the Premiership) and a DM and a striker.

This is the 1st year since 2006 we have had money. The Stadium had hampered our financies, but with the massive Puma deal and the Stadium all but paid we are now in very rich (and without a help of a Billionaire) position.

I can see us getting Ceasar, a DM, a back up defender and either Villa / Jovetic / Rooney or Higuain.

I think Man U fans cannot see past their own team and do not watch others to see the improvements.

If you lot watched any Arsenal games this year you will see what strides we have made.......our defense is now compact and we have midfielders galore.......players like Wilshere, Walcott and Cazorla have played well this year. Gibbs is looking better and better as a L/B along with Jenkinson as R/B....and they are understudies to 2 experience Internationals . All we need is a striker. I like Giroud and scoring 15 goals in his 1st season was very good, but we need an established striker....

Even though I rate Jovetic / Villa and Higuain above Rooney....Rooney has something they do not have......Experience in the Premiership.....

Nobody criticises our team mre than we do! Most of us don't even understand how we won the league and some Utd fans are predicting little more than a top 4 finish unless we sign quality players this summer.

How can you be surprised that we are not scared of Arsenal when your club has won nothing in 8 years?

Of course your team would improve with 3-4 new players - every team would! The point is that the teams that are already better than Arsenal will improve as well - and they will probably sign better players than Arsenal!

we will not sign Rooney or Cesc so just forget about them
