Not only did Robbie equal Shay Givens record of 125 caps but he also scored his 55th and 56th International goals!
Very proud record !
2nd highest International goalscorer in Europe for players still playing International Football!
Seeing as he looking sharp at the moment I would like to see him start against the Faroes especially seeing as Long will be suspended.
For matches against tougher opposition I would use him as an impact sub later on in the match if we are struggling to score.
I still think Robbie who will be 33 soon still has something to offer us. At least for the duration of this current WC Qualifying campaign anyway!
Robbie Keane - 56 International goals!!

Robbie should target three or four goals in the Faroes game.
Easier said than done.
I want him to get 60 before the end of qualifying, but don't think he should play against the likes of Germany, Sweden and Austria either! Well at least not from the beginning.
If we make Brazil, would he go?

It's all well and good to score against 10 men Georgia but Robbie is a shadow of the player he was. No way should he be brought to Brazil (unlikely we will get there anyway) but probably will.

We won't make it to brazil the late Austria goal killed our chances

Sweden could draw against Austria and then lose to us in their next two games.
Win our three home games and avoid defeat against Austria we have a real chance!

Robbie's been a great pro and servent for Ireland but his time as first choice starter should have long ended before now. Hat tricks aginst minnow part timers is of minimum relevance and of course our pre historic caveman manager Trap is transfixed with 442 which is lucky for Robbie as he cant play in any other formation. The likelihood is that once our failure to qualify for Rio is confirmed than donkeyman Trap wont be renewed and any other manager coming in will move the team on and it will be the end of the international careers of Trap favourites like Robbie, Keogh, Cox, Sammon, McShane, Green and hopefully Irish football can move onwards and upwards with a new generation of exciting young players.

What bugs me is potentially we have our strongest squad since the early 90's. I'm not saying we will win the WC but when you see us struggle to score against a bunch of part timers something is wrong.
Trapp needs to go.
