Bring him home to Tannadice Jackie
Good people of Blackburn - don't stand in his way of his glorious return to his spiritual home.
If we get Goodie back it will absolutely cushion the blow of losing Johnny Russell to Derby (the deal looks like being agreed today). It will be a magnificent signing and will really boost the fans who are maybe a little bit concerned at all the key players leaving the club. Given that Jackie says he's already spoken to the people at Blackburn I'd hope that there is a little substance to this and I'm convinced that Goodie would rather come home than go to another Scottish club.
Come home Goodie!

I don't think he was versatile enough for Blackburn. I've noticed English clubs often seem reluctant to play a young stiker as a striker, preferring to stick them on the wing at first, and Goodwillie is an abysmal winger.
Then again, they bought Rhodes and instantly started him up top. I suppose he was "proven" in English football, whereas Goodwillie was not.

"I got a txt last night to say Celtic will bid £800,000 today plus add ons for Russell. "
Who was the text from?

Take him please. Sounds like I'm knocking the lad but, as Star says, no point in him warming our benches and getting 20 mins as a substitute every other week to run round like a headless chicken. Really liked this signing when it happened but a succession of managers haven't liked him and he can't get a striking berth with us so, given the forwards we do have, he needs to go.
He never got a chance to try the Prem out (or even the championship with us really) and its unfair not to give a lad a run of games and then expect him to hit the ground running when he does get a chance. Would be sorry to see him go for the only reason that it hasn't worked out (for him or us) but can't say that I will miss him.

I like Goodwillie, not really been given a chance here, but in the last games of last season was given a couple of run outs and for me did really well,he has more pace than Rhodes and indeed puts himself about more(maybe a little too much at times) for me i hope we keep him and i hope he gets more used next season.

Keep him and partner him with Rhodes. If he does crap, let him go back to Tannadice in January.

Hope he does come back, like you said it'll give the fans and maybe the team a bit of a boost and a perfect replacement for Russell, who can do the same in 2 years time if it doesn't work out for him either

Took me ages to come up with that

I don't think it is about him not being given enough opportunities, or him not being versatile enough. He just isn't good enough to be a starting striker for a Championship club.
