Would be a good appointment. As long as he doesn't air his religious beliefs in public again.

Hodde is an overrated ego. His best days were at Swindon - no disrespect but that says it all.

Keep the faith with Pearce - in a way he is a victim of the players he has developed and the fact that they are nudging for full England caps.

A successful under 21 team does not materialise into an all conquering full national team.

Look at Spain, quality mature players all peaking at the same time.

In conclusion,Hoddle is a has been show pony who is so shallow, in footballing, credibility and persona,he couldn't drown in a puddle

Hoddle is shallow? The guy who set up a team in Spain to especially cater for young released players in England? That Hoddle?

It was be a brilliant appointment and was probably the last time I was happy with the way England played. He is mental but he is a good coach and he has worked with youth.

Robbing - I know all of that....and he has produced how many payers....errrr zip-? dddly squat.

Yes, I get his intention.....but

As I said he is shallow ,self serving and over hyped.

Great footballer, below average manager......pretty much like Paul Ince really.

They're in the Spanish 3rd division and he takes players from the football league. They were released for a reason! He's giving them a second chance to become a pro player with a couple more years development. That is not a shallow act.

He did okay at Chelsea as a manager, in fact a player-manager, and England played well under him.

Robbing - let it go,look at your answer...3rd division players,no chance of making it,looking good in the publics eye....errr equals shallow.....and probably a bit self indulgent.

Released players having no chance, are then strung along on false hopes by playing in the Sanish third division.Whose ego is that massaging? - proferring false promises and delivering nothing- as I said, shallow.

And Chelsea and England acheived exactly what under Hoddle?

It would be criminal to get rid of Pearce. He may be having a poor tournament out in Israel at the moment, but his record over the years is pretty much second to none.
They had not conceded a goal in 9 matches before going to Israel.

If they want to blame then look closer to home, players such as Rodwell, Oxlade-Chamberlain,could have gone to Israel. but the real culprits are the FA.
21 years ago they created a monster and called it THE PREMIER LEAGUE.
Then with the help of SKY TV came up with abusive amounts of money to lure the top foreigners here,as a result our PL club chairmen and mangers are so protected of their players that the national game does not get a look in.
Players now have too much power, and clubs to have too much power. Theysay it's the best league in the world, yeah course it is, thats why Wembley staged the CL final last month, full of English players!! and England have not done much since 1990 in Italy.
Our national game is a joke.
