does anyone agree with me luke steele as been given a rough deal with the offer of a one year deal I personally would have thought he was worth at least a 2 year deal he as been a stalwart for us for 5 years

I guess if he signs now it will only be because he can't find a better deal elsewhere - and then, I wonder, will his heart be in it.

I think the point at issue here is the need to adhere to the new FFP rules. This is leading to a readjustment of wage levels throughout the football league.
Still, the offers that BFC make mean that our players will still earn substantial salaries, in the range of £1000 to £5000 per week is a reasonable guess, (based on our wage bill) for senior squad members.
Those players who have earned more under previous contracts can count themselves fortunate rather than unfortunate that they now may have to accept less.
Steele and Hassell have been offered what we can afford to pay them, if they can earn more elsewhere good luck to them, at least they have the offer of a job. Many decent players will fail to secure a contract for next season and go out of the game.
Lots of players will be available to us on salaries we can afford, and, as usual, many clubs will pay over the odds for players who are no better than ours! No one is indispensable.

Flicker's comments are strange and I can't pretend to know the thinking behind them but he may have explained himself poorly.
It's his job to decide these matters though so I'll trust him to do so, despite the fact that I think Steele is a very good goalie.
Our communication with fans could be better perhaps, but can we trust the media not to put some spin or speculate on what is actually said. Clearly some of our fans are sensitive souls, lol, but although I am not envious of the highly paid, footballers have to expect some volatility in the level of their wages!

FlitHill has done jackshit so far. All the real movement has been with the new suits upstairs getting their feet under the table. As usual and at best, we'll end up with journeymen , past their best pensioners, and loanees . 20th in the league I suppose will be an improvement on last seasons performance. But I won't be holding my breath. I suppose the club could always call on the services of Mido again if they are really stuck..
