What a pointless match!!!!

Spain 2-0 Ireland (B)!

Nothing new was learned! Trapatonni instead of picking a few uncapped players such as Joe Mason or Paddy Madden for example selected the usual tried and failed donkeys!

And surely Anthony Stokes deserves a cap more than Connor Sammon!!

Only positive is the fact Spain were fairly wasteful in front of goals and only beat us 2-0!

I can only guess this match was just an excuse for Delaney and the other FAI chancers to go on the pi55 in New York!!!

Please go at the end of this WC Qualifying campaign as most ROI fans are sick of the sight of you at this stage!

FAI are the same shambolic mess they've always been. And this NY game was nothing but a jolly for Delaney and the likes with the hope of making a few quid. 4 end of season games was taking the absolute p!## and Trap's near bullying of McCarthy to go just exemplified his non existent borderline bullying management style. I wont be attending any games at the so called 'Aviva' until after this stale old chancer Trap is gone and taken his fat sidekick Tarbelly. I can live in hope to see the back of delaney at some stage but the FAI is such an incestuous closed shop that his son or brother would probably replace him. Incompetence and corruption is as rife in the FAI now as it was back before the Genesis report. And lets not forget that FIFA bailed the FAI out only this week on some of the stadium payments they couldnt afford. Total and utter shambles, as I type this John Delaney probably has the FAI credit card behind some bar in downtown Manhatten!!! Nothing ever changes!

Is that true about the stadium repayments? Not surprised really. Annoying to see Delaney and Trapp on so much cash undeservedly!

Connor Sammon has had numerous opportunities now and has clearly proved that he offers nothing to the team and is clearly out of his depth at international level.
Cox isn’t far behind either…..

Give Jon Daly a go……

Read it and weep!! Ah well good old Delaney's a great man for cursing and getting them in at the bar when he's hammered, all on the FAI credit card of course!!

Conor Sammon is utter dog5heit!!! Our striker berths should be between Long, Walters, Keane and Doyle, maybe Stokes at this stage. Other possibilties pushing on could be Mason if he can get game time with Cardiff, there's a young prospect coming through at West Ham but might be a year or two away.

I wouldnt have Keogh, Sammon or Cox anywhere near the squad. Nor John Daly now he's 30 and going to be spending his next 3 years in the lower leagues of Scotland. Whatever happened to that irish /Dutch lad Maguire who was playing for Utrecht and wanted to declare for us but no doubt Trap has never heard of him!

Ideally once finally rid of Trap we should be abandoning prehistoric 442 and go more 4-2-3-1 as most top sides play these days:

Forde,
Coleman, O'Shea, Pearce, Wilson
Gibson, McCarthy
Pilkington, Hoolahan, McClean
Long (c)

The FAI are an absolute mess. Delaney is on €340,000 a year when we can't even pay for our own stadium; Trap is still manager despite the abysmal attendances (which are completely justfied, by the way) showing that the fans are voting with their feet and no longer want to persist with his dull team selections and horrible football.

We would have learned nothing from this game: it was just a chance for Delaney to fly first class on the FAI credit card and no doubt stay in a 5 star hotel whilst getting pissssed!

The only good thing this week was that the Swedes didn't hammer the Faroes by the 4+ goals I was expecting and we may have a chance to claw some goal-difference back! Having said that, we should have been trying to score more than three goals against them last Friday!

That's looks a promising looking team with goals in it. We don't have the players for a 442 but Trapp is set in his ways. Zzzzzzfest every game

That's a fairly strong 11 Len.
What's the situation with Pillington?
Has he declared for us yet!

Pilkington s declared for us, was in the last squad but then dropped out with a shoulder injury.
