A thought has just come to me, and after a few seconds on it, I realised it's an actual problem, but considering the opinion of the ja606 users, might seem silly.
Who will we buy to replace Michael Carrick?
His record since we've been here speaks for itself. 4/5 PL titles, 3/4 champions league finals, statistically the best DM in european football in terms of passes intercepted AND blocks made. Good passer of the ball and decent in the air defensively. He's what could be described and a holding mid and a deep lying play maker in one, and while his play making abilities certainly aren't stunning, his stats and our record with him are clear as day. He makes mistakes under pressure, yes. A big fault in his game. When he goes though we'll miss him. I mean think about it, how many times has a Carrick interception sparked a counter attack which we've scored from. An unknowable stat is how many goals have his interceptions stopped us conceding. I'd bet a lot though.
Anybody got an ideas on a player who reads the game like Carrick, is tall and good in the air, can tackle and pass, has a bit of pace about them and doesn't wilt like wet paper under pressure?
Haha here's one that'll raise some eyebrows

Unfortunately not no, it was just one of those things I came across a month or two ago and I couldn't believe it. I mean, I know what he's best at goes unnoticed largely, but to think he could be statistically the best was a bit mind boggling. I shall try and dig it up sometime tomorrow and post the link then, going to bed soon, early start and what. What was more surprising on it was that for minutes played vs tackles won, I think it was some mid table spanish teams DM, not one of the big names!

Although he may not be another Carrick, I personally feel you should buy Hamsik. I'd love for him to come to Arsenal, but he would really improve your midfield

'Carrick IMO is a world-class player'
On that absolute bombshell, I believe it's time to say good night.
My oh my. 'World class'? Ridiculous. Absolutely ludicrous. While we're simply throwing superlatives recklessness around, without a care in the world, why don't we claim that Park is world class too? Perhaps Obertan?
Carrick world class? Unbelievable.

Statistically rage, he is.

sorry, I've got nothing in the way of stats and figures. My opinion is he's a very average player, and always has been. I don't like him.
I'm convinced if he was in any of the the top four he would be ridiculed by United fans

Do show. And also show me what yard stick you measure 'world class' on?
Cos I bet ya it isnt the same measuring scale we base players like Xavi, Iniesta, Rooney, Messi, Ronaldo, etc on.
Having the number 1 interceptions in Europe is not a world class making stat. If anything, it shows his lack of mobility and tendency to camp in that special little Carrick spot of the field, waiting for the action to come to him, rather then him to it.
'World class' is a total package. We don't describe Tim Cahill as world class, even though I doubt you'd find a better header of the ball in Europe. We don't count Lennon as world class, even though he super fast. We don't count Samba as world class just because he can play in defense and up top, so why do you want to class Carrick as world class just because he blocks, and intercepts a lot?
Again, it's all ludicrous.

Rage
Amongst all your ramblings you've said nothing to suggest Carrick isn't world-class.
I'm sure you can name several players who would do Carrick's job for United better than he can.
Name them.
