Disgusting, grotty, little club

No I am not talking about Derby. Derby County are paragons of excellence and virtue when compared to this club. I'd rather there were 100 Derby County's than 1 of this club. I would wear a Derby County shirt, sing their songs, and pay entry instead of having any form of association with this club.

Real Madrid.

This post may not be Forest related but their actions have forced me to actually vent on a public forum.

Not only do they contain some foul players they also think they are gods gift to football. This is shown so clearly through their interest in Gareth Bale.

Firstly they get Luka Modric (who was also slimed up by that greasy disgusting institution) to publicly state that Gareth Bale should be at Real Madrid and not Tottenham.

Then Zinedine Zidane comes out and actually says that he should demand a transfer to get out of Tottenham and come to Real Madrid. He actually said he should spit on his generous, legally binding contract with Tottenham so that he can hopefully sign for them. Pathetic.

Now they have reserved his shirt number for him. Before any offer is received let alone accepted.

If I was a Tottenham fan I would be furious. If I was Gareth Bale I would be furious. If I was Daniel Levy I would rip up their 'association' with Real Madrid.

They are not a football club. They are a scourge on everything that is good about football. They are slowly eradicating everything that is good about football.

The hubris and self importance of Spanish football is starting to really grate on me.

If anyone had any moral value they wouldn't touch that club. Ferguson had it right. You wouldn't sell that mob a virus.

Watching them makes me always think...

Thank god for teams like Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday...and dare I say it...Derby County and even Leeds Utd. Rivals and opponents they may be.

But they don't go against everything that football stands for.

They reinforce it.

Rant over.

It did fill me with joy watching a bloated Real get outclassed by a Dortmund running within their means.

You are spot on with your comments although the trouble is everyone does it, Real are just at the top of the pyramid so signing high profile players.

Just naming the clubs in the original post Spurs have put the word out that they're interested in players before, even Derby were in trouble back in the days when they were in for decent players, by going after Ferre Bodde from Swansea (dodged a bullet there).

Real have been bailed out a few times by the local authorities, didn't they get a huge payment from the government "buying" their training site despite them not taking over the land.

Maybe it is just because Real use their control over half the Spanish media to further put pressure.

Maybe it is their certainty that what they want will happen that is annoying.

Compared to Forest, hoping things will happen then finding yourself on the 1st Sept with no wingers and a dodgy left back for the rest of the season...

Welcome to the world of "Real" football.

I wouldn't cast Barca as whiter than white however; I'm sure Arsenal fans would agree that their pursuit of Fabregas left a nasty taste in the mouth.

...and they insist it's pronounced rail when it is, quite clearly, spelt Real.

Don't get me started on chorizo

Barca are no better. But for some reason they get off with it

Your last adjective is rather ridiculous, a little club with 9 European Cups.

And to be honest the rest of the post seems rather harsh, I mean name me a club that has never tapped up a player. Tottenham themselves were accused of doing it with Young when he was at Villa.

If a club has a player who is miles better than they are then you're bound to get pressure being put on him to leave. The other clubs can smell blood and it encourages them to be more persistent. Bale is probably the 3rd best player in the world, Tottenham are nowhere near even being the 3rd best team in England. To be honest I'm amazed they've managed to keep him this long.

Real are the worst of a bad bunch. They have now got everything loaded in their favour with the European Cup, etc, and still they want more by hoovering all of the best players into their squads so others can't have them.
Result - Boring and predictable competitions. La Liga is awful due to Real and Barcas duopoly. The Prem is not too far behind. Only Chelsea, Man U and Man C can realistically claim to be genuine title contenders. Yawn.
