Sooo, The Guardian are reporting that we're in 'advanced' talks to sign Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu from Porto, for £3m. Anyone watch much of Porto or Ghana? What do we think?

One for the bench strength at best.

The consensus on here is that is a great deal

My only hope is that anyone we sign from now on is industrious, so even if a players abilities are not what we thought, the industrious side will still add some value to the team.
Thats what will take us far in the next few years.

Industrious? Get away with you! It's poetic players only from now on, none of this rough stuff for us

Quick and strong. Adds some much needed strength to the attack.

He's like Gervinho. Needs to work on his end product. He has time on his side though, so at 21 years of age he looks pretty good. Would be really happy if we could get him for the reported 3m fee.

Shockingly bad article here. Everyone knows when you talk about a unknown linked player you have to provide a youtube video so we can all make instant judgements on how their entire career at the club will go. Tut tut.
I'll make up for your mistake

Didn't Porto wan;t to him to sign a new deal with a 22 million buy out clause? He didn't want to so he was basically dropped so he's only like a few weeks or months left on his current deal hence the 3 million price?
That's what I read today, in a redtop though so.....

What kneerash said, porto rate him quite highly hence why they wanted to add the 22mil release clause to his next contact, which he refused so we can get him dirt cheap
