The earlier reports purported to be direct quotes from JOM. If he did not say those words, surely he can sue.

It is one thing reporting "a source said..." or the like but direct quotes. Unbelievable reporting if he did not say them. How can they get away with it.

Just saw Mikel´s goal and it was very good, especially his bit of skill to beat the defender to get his shot off.

Why does Mikel never do anything even approaching that at Chelsea ?

Seems to me he saves his best performances for Nigeria which is another reason why I won´t be remotely sad to see him goes if he leaves this summer.
