And for the small amount of £1 million!
Believe me this is an absolute bargain and I personally would of stretched to £4 million.

Yeah he didn't ask for the move and is therefore due the loyalty bonus. Its in the players' contracts nowadays.

Has anyone checked out the mhkytarian link on the right hand side of that page?
Apparently the transfer is in doubt because he is not fully owned by donetsk.

he hasnt bad mouthed about the club to my knowledge or been any problem, he was brought for silly money and on silly wages which can hardly put the blame on him for.
think we got lucky it was only a million, we will have bigger problems getting rid of Downing(those who want rid that is) he is going to be another Cole.
Carroll just wasn't given the opportunities for whatever reason, best all round we move on, and hopefully NEVER repeat this sillyness in the transfer window again.

Well Carroll was given opportunities to be fair, the problem was that other than the last two months of 11-12, he didn't look particularly ărsed about playing football for Liverpool.

Sorry but I cant agree with this. He was specifically poor for us IMO. Sometimes a cross would be coming into the box but our six foot plus striker would be found looking in the other direction. Sometimes it looked like he hadn't been at training for ages the way he played for us.

Yeah this 'Carroll wasn't given opportunities' is a bit of a myth.
Brendan didn't fancy him, but he has already flopped by then. It's not like Rodgers signed him and then never played him.
Carroll started 35 games for Liverpool, a seasons worth of opportunities. He scored 11 goals for us in total, including sub appearances (23). I don't know how many he scored in the starts, but I would guess at something like 7 or 8 goals.
That is a rubbish return for a number 9, comparable to the worst seasons of Heskeys career, or Crouch's.
We weren't a great team in Carrolls time, but we were still the 7th or 8th best around and we were right I expect a better return.

It's the concept of accepting a million to feckoff which I can't get to grips with, it's a matter of pride.
But as Marcellus Wallace told Butch in Pulp Fiction
Feck pride! pride only hurts, it never helps.

Aggers
If you've read above it was probably a contractual term.

And its exactly why Suarez wont hand in a transfer request because if we sell him of our own accord he will be due a 3 million pound windfall from us!! If he hands in the request he gets nothing.

Any bit of respect I had for him has now gone if this is true.
--------------------
Why?
When he joined the club we offered him a contract, he never asked to leave the club and therefore was well with in his right for compensation for us wanting to end his contract early!
That's exactly why Alonso, Torres and Suarez had to and will have to hand in transfer requests to leave the club. That then negates their contracts!
Simple business ideology!
