Formula One team Mercedes and tyre supplier Pirelli have escaped severe punishment for their controversial tyre test last month.
The sport's world governing body, the FIA, ruled that the drivers involved in the test gained no unfair advantage.
They concluded that the drivers involved, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, are free to compete in the British Grand Prix next week.
The tribunal also ruled that neither Pirelli nor Mercedes acted in bad faith and that they had hinted to the FIA that these tests would be carried out.
The man in charge of Red Bull racing, Team Principal Christian Horner, was unhappy with the decision.
Speaking after the hearing, he said: "Usually if you commit a sporting offence there's a sporting penalty that goes with it."

Not content to lie about being offered the opportunity to test, this troll who's team has been responsible for illegal diffusers, engine maps, flexi wings and floors, holes in the floor, multi 21s, taking wings away, not letting it's drivers race, the list goes on comes out with this garbage.
Mr Horner, can you please identify the penalties you have received for the multiple rule infringements your team has been involved in?
What a hypocrite.

Martial, why should I bother debating anything with you when you have said no one can make you change your opinions?
A few wise words, hopefully they can help you going forward;
“It does take great maturity to understand that the opinion we are arguing for is merely the hypothesis we favor, necessarily imperfect, probably transitory, which only very limited minds can declare to be a certainty or a truth.”
“A mind set in its ways is wasted. Don't do it.”
“One’s opinion should only be as strong as one’s knowledge on the matter.”
Pay special attention to these three;
“Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in a while, or the light won't come in.”
“The most fatal illusion is the settled point of view. Since life is growth and motion, a fixed point of view kills anybody who has one.”
“Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn.”

Perhaps we can now have another charade like the ones Mosley, the man exposed in the "News of the World" newspaper in 2008, used to go in for.
I feel sorry for Mercedes young drivers though, nothing to do with them and they are the ones penalised and missing a 3 day test.
"They concluded that the drivers involved, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, are free to compete in the British Grand Prix next week."
Almost a pity, had they been banned the hatred directed at Red Bull and Poor little ferrari would have been visible!
I am not convinced that the opinion of the FIA can go any lower, although I will fail to raise my eyebrows if it does.

how do you expect the other big teams to react when they view one of there main rivals testing unfairly ?
as for the FIA -- they have been more than fair with merc --- what makes you think they have not ?

POB, I'm not surprised especially as the red car has had 2 secret tests.

If Ferrari can behave like they did at Indy in 05 then I don't think they care about fan reaction.
