BELLAMY

Lenny is quoted as saying yesterday that he's still hopeful that a deal can be struck to bring Bellamy to CP.

I don't understand this, didn't we learn anything from signing Freddie last season?

Where would he play?
Who would be left out for him?
Why don't we spend the money it would cost, even subsidised by Man City, on a goalkeeper ?

Henrik's Foreheed,

Bellamy if he comes will only be coming on loan with Man City covering most of his wages. Practically everyone in the EPL is overrated and overpaid.

Gone are the days when Celtic could make proper signings like Sutton, Hartson and Larsson. BTW Bellamy did not play at Celtic during the time Larsson was there.

Still if we got Bellamy for a full season on loan, he'd be worth taking - so long as City are covering most of his wages - simply because he's better than what we have. Ideally you'd be hoping that we could sign a better option up front, but that doesn't seem to be possible.

Foreheed

I too would prefer to spend cash on the future, take a gamble on some wee overlooked Nicaraguan or Malaysian, but this has to be Neils year, he has to win the league or he's a goner. Bellemy would be a positive addition, creating barrowloads of chances for the temperamental Hooper.

Maloney...I'm in 2 minds, great on his day, but those days are few and far between.

Bn'B, if Celtic win the SPL this season and Bellamy plays a part in it then nobody is going to be talking about salaries come May. He'll improve the Celtic side and that's what matters.

Then if Bellamy is what Neil believes can help take the title back to Paradise then I am all for it.

Maloney must go! He cannot stay off the treatment table and is costing us £20,000 a week. He will not get on the wings ahead of Brown, Commons or Forrest in my opinion. Go!

A Rangers fan telling Celtic not to sign a player who is "poison". When they signed a player that spits on eleven-year olds.

bellamys pretty much been poison in every dressing room he's been in
========================================================

Has he? I don't recall any stories of that nature when he was at Celtic last time. The incident where he said to a Clyde player about his wages is a total non event. He was winding up an opponent which everybody accepts is part of the game.

Enough already............he is not even at Rangers.

Spitting is nasty though. You would never see your manager doing that sort of thing Henrik.

Bellamy didn't play much last season, very injury prone these days which is why I quoted Freddie, and certainly not the player he was when last here.

If I thought we were going to buy a class goalkeeper as well as spend money on Bellamy, whatever wages we would have to pay would still be a lot, I wouldn't mind but that's unlikely given our track record.

Agree that we could offload some but who's going to buy Maloney with his injury record and do you think he would give up £20K per week?
