Empty cupboard

38 years of participation in ODI world tournaments and no trophies to show!

Very very disappointing, to say the least.

They did implode and looked a shambles at the end, the over from sharma was mad 2 wides a peach of a ball and 2 wickets .

Got to be honest I backed India to win it before the tournament began and thought my bet was down the drain with Morgan and Ravi batting so well.

I thought it was a poor decision by Dhoni to bowl Sharma at the juncture, but he often gets lucky with his gambling instincts.

Dhoni is a fantastic captain,sharma said in an interview after the game that he was nervous after bowling the 2 wife's but you got to take your hat off to him for holding his nerve and bouncing back.

Indian fielding surprised me. Their ground fielding is normally pretty sloppy. They have been disciplined and deft throughout the tournament.

Yup Robbie, our fielding was awesome as lousy legs like shewag and weak chumps like Gambi were kicked out of our team..

I also noticed that these younger Indian batsmen run very well between wickets, taking 2s when those retired and sacked players would have run 1 or none.

Not just the younger players, the oldest member of this team, Dhoni, is among the fastest runners between wickets.

I remember how lazy Ganguly was and how slow Laxman was.

England will never win anything in ODI if they keep thinking 270 to 280 is a good score....

They should have picked hales in the squad to open instead of the awful bell. Keep trott at 3 kp 4 Morgan 5 bopara or wright 6, bring back prior as WK then the 4 bowlers,that should be a stronger batting line up for the next world cup.

Yes, ODI batting has been a problem for England since the seventies.

@bennythedip

Think your spot on there mate but I think KP will retire after the back to back ashes series. He wants to play full seasons of the IPL and maximise his earnings...
