How things have changed

I think you will find that the majority of people on here value and appreciate any thoughtful and insightful cricket knowledge. My opinions on here are more often than not backed up with stats and fatcs and therefore I’m as reliable as they come….

i’ll give you an example ADOT, Azhar ali for odi team. The facts and stats say Pakistan have the slowest run rate in the first 10 overs compared to any other team. The stats also say paks have an even worse comparison when it comes to 10-20 overs. On top of that they say that paks have lots and lots and lost of dot dot dot balls… when you match that to azhars records and strike rate = it’s a no no!!!!

You are right Pakistan have eaten up the most deliveries in ODI's since 2009 etc...You mentioned Azhar Ali. I will mention the player you wanted in the team, Ahmed Shehzad. Who has a strike rate of 67, point 3 more than Ali. So your argument or point is irrelevant. Reason being Shehzad has played at least 5 more ODI's than Azhar and Shehzad opens so he is the one who puts the pressure on up first.

Then you need to look at the fact that Azhar made his ODI debut in 2011, whereas Shehzad made his in 2009 the time it started. So this dot ball problem began two years before Azhar touched the ODI scene. So quite clearly he is the one not to blame.

I’ve never said shehzad is the next gayle mate , all I said was he’s probably the best from a poor bunch of openers that we’ve got currently. Therefore, I would give him a final opportunity. He tries to attack, but hes just hit and miss and abit hot headed… azhar though, whilst he’s quality test material, sleep at the wicket in odis, that was my point. We’ve already got misbah yawning away, we don’t need another … we’re Pakistan mate, not dotistan

I may have had a shocker in the CT mickey mouse cup thread but I did deliver the World T20 cup in England, Pakistan whitewash of England in UAE and the Asia cup domination
