I appreciate that this article has alot of 'ifs' buts' and 'maybes' in this article, but I haven't been excited about an upcoming season for 4 years so for once lets have a bit of hypothetical optimism shall we?
Last season there were a few shining stars i.e Unbelievable Tekkers, Weimann, Lowton and Westwood, some players who flattered to deceive i.e. KEA, Vlaar, N'Zogbia and some who were just not very good at all i.e. Bennett, Ireland and Bannan.
Now some of these players were both new to the Premier League (and the UK) or from the lower leagues, so I appreciate that there is a bedding in period..... I mean, Stan was pretty useless in his first season!!
But now Lambert is buying what those lesser performers really needed last year, competition for places! Last year there were back ups in some positions, but noone to really snap at their heels..
We now have Luna as direct competition for Bennett, Helenius as competition for Gabby and Weimann, Tonev as competition for NZogbia, Gabby and Weimann, Okore to challenge Vlaar, Baker and Clark and the unknown Bacuna who (allegedly) is very good through the middle...
We now need to shift some dead wood but I would imagine letting Lichaj go means he will want a new RB to keep Lowton on his toes, then according to James Nursey "Lambert v pleased with signings so far. Now wants rid of Bent/Ireland & will then buy a No.10 striker" so he wants ANOTHER attacking player!!
I tell you what fellow Villans, if this team can gel and Okore can be as good as he looks, we could be a real shock package next year
Onwards and upwards!

I read Bacuna has been playing there although prefers midfield.
