I'm sure most Gooners with access to social media and/or Sky Sports would have seen last night that Sky were running the story that Arsenal had 'met the release fee' for Fellaini, triggering his buy-out clause to begin the process of negotiating with the player a transfer from Everton.
The thing is, I'm not sure I trust Sky these days. What once was a (usually) reputable and reliable source of news and information seems to have descended into a gossip machine, teasing fans and delivering metaphorical rhubarb in text form, in a little yellow bar at the bottom of your television screen.
That said, I guess everyone's into mindless speculation these days. Even the official Arsenal website has it's own 'Gossip' section which reads more like 'Hello' magazine than a fountain of facts for us plebians.
Any truth in this Fellaini 'release clause' being met or have the once bastions of truth & integrity (Sky Sports) regressed to the level of their Italian cousins (Sky Italia) who fabricate tall tales with wanton glee, leaving us all weeping like teased v a g i n a s?
Fellaini's 'release fee' clause activated?

"I can just imagine the board at the round table at HQ all biting their finger nails looking at the bank balance on a massive screen, all trying desperately to approve signings but knowing the balance will plummet if they do and all holding back."
Not now we have Sir Chips. Nowadays they spend all their days playing Catchphrase.

I briefly met Roy Walker at Manchester Airport. He came out of a lift and I turned to my girlfriend and said "holy crap, that's Roy Walker."
Good times.

Isn't that 'seeing Roy Walker', rather than 'meeting Roy Walker'? I saw Aled from Chris Moyles show at Gawwick airport once, he was being rushed through security so he could fly to Africa, I think it was Kenya.
I don't think he saw me, or my wife.
I consider us the best of friends.

Sky Sports has always been unreliable for this sort of thing.
How many times do we see things like "Arsenal close to Robinho deal" , "Arsenal keeping close eye on M'Vila" and this rubbish?
For me, BBC is the only one that has a bit of integrity in terms of, if there is a story on there, you know there is some kind of genuine backbone to it.

I agree, I only believe it if its on the BBC or Arsenal.com
