For anyone interested I thought I would post the original source of the Mkhitaryan picture that apparently shows him in a London hotel this morning as it has quite a bit more information, but obviously it should be taken with a pinch of salt as it is nothing official and quite frankly the picture might not even be him.
It was originally posted onto a website called Reddit and this is what was said.

Guys I'm sitting in a posh London hotel and in front of me, checking in is Henrikh Mkhitaryan. It's definitely him, confirmed not just by his appearance but also by his Armenian passport which he flashed while checking. I took a picture as proof - please let me know how to post it on this site or I can email it to someone who is better informed

Then he went on to say....

Hey guys - just some background on my encounter now that I have some time at lunch:
I had a meeting at this hotel in the morning and was waiting for my client to arrive (my client was running a bit late). I saw Mickey sitting by the checkin desk and initially thought he was just a perfect doppelgänger. As I continued to wait (I was standing 1m apart from him) I became more convinced that this could be our man.
At this point I went up to the checkin desk to get a closer inspection with just a random question for the receptionist. That's where I saw his key card and passport lying face up on the counter closest to where he was sitting. I googled "Armenian passport" on my iPhone and it was the exact same blue document. I stepped back, took a pic and sent it to my friend (massive Dortmund fan who is hoping he plays in the yellow and black next year). Once he confirmed he thought it was Mickey as well, I walked up and said "welcome to Liverpool" he smiled awkwardly / in a scared way and said "Thanks, lets see". His English was pretty good based on what he said to me and my eavesdropping of his chat with the receptionist.
My client came in at that point while at the same time a large fat man on a cell phone greeted Mickey - he was no one I recognised, though I don't know what his agent / manager looks like.
I'm a London based red and have no reason to lie to my fellow reds. I'm also a long time lurker and this sort of stuff pops up here so I was pretty excited I got to share as well. Read into it as little or as much as you want!

If you want to see the post for yourself then the website link is;

I hope it is him and I hope it is us he is coming to see, but I wont get my hopes up just yet.
For anyone interested in the Mkhiki source

Aha sorry Sterling, I didn't really catch that, my fault....
It seems as though they may be starting to actually utilise their own scouts for once though... maybe they learned their lesson from Sigg and Dempsey.

After DDFP callously tricked me into believing Rodgers drinks pina coladas in The Albert last night, I refuse to believe any internet based story ever again.

What do you MEAN he doesn't drink pina coladas?

Let's face it, you can fly from anywhere the Heathrow or Gatwick - a bit more tricky to fly to Liverpool so there was probably a meeting in London.

Blimey. For the avoidance of doubt, I do understand the concept of travel hubs and convenience of location not necessarily equating to the end destination.
Apparently Abramovich has met many prospective players and managers on his boat, tough though it was I managed to accept that they probably weren't going to play for Red Sea FC.

Yes but Abramovic is all about showing off and that's why he uses his boat. Makes the client feel less important and therefore he has the upper hand in negotiations.
I doubt Ian Ayre has the same willingness to make the person he's meeting feel small.

Why would he be in London?
It's either someone has agreed a fee with Shakhtar and whoever it is is now negotiating personal terms with the player, or someone is doing something illegal talking to the player without permission of player's club...
...Assuming the story/picture isn't made up.

I'm clearly not doing very well at this whole posting thing today. Communicating meaning is obviously not a great strength. I must bring it up in my next performance review.
<sigh> back to work.
