I admit Nadal has not looked very assured on grass in the last 2 years, which is a huge shame. He used to be very good on the surface, winning queens and Wimbledon twice and competing in 5 Wimbledon finals. His body is obviously taking it tole but I feel he can do well on the hard courts where the ball bounces higher. The last 2 hard court slams he has entered has seen him enter 2 finals. Was not long ago Nadal won Indian Wells. After 9 tournaments and 7 finals it took it's tole and a rapid change in surface added by Steves impressive performance led to Nadal losing. A month or 2 break and Nadal may come back strong. I don't doubt thought that Novak and Murray are currently the best on the tour at the moment but Nadal is not finished just yet. He has slam or 2 left in him on surfaces other than clay.

I'm not sure he's ever going to be the same player now that he's had these knee problems.
Not only are they something that can come back often, but it's a mental thing too, somewhere in the back of your mind while playing a sport like tennis you'll be thinking about your knee or wherever you've had serious injuries

He's not going to be the same player?
Before Wimbledon he won 7 tournaments on the bounce.

Chab 6 of those were on his beloved clay. At IW it looked like he was back but immediately withdrew from Miami (most prestigious of the masters)
I like Nadal and wish him well but I think there has to be serious doubts about whether his body can take the rigours of the tour other than clay
