For the blades today, and amazing away support, performance was by no means perfect but good to start with a win!
Not sure if many other blades are on this site but if your out there what are your views, would be good to get this page buzzing like old BBC 606!
Good Start...

Evening, lads, a Clarets fan in peace and a serious question..
I've been on holiday for a few days so may well have missed something but does anybody know why the Blades' shirt sponsor was blacked out in a photo of Stephen Quinn from last night's match in "The Sun" today ?
I know you've some joint arrangement with the Owls being sponsored by VW and some health company but why should either of those need to be hidden ?

Welcome aboard Canary Blade!
evensteadiereddie, not sure why the Sun would block out the sponsership, they might have a deal with another big car dealer that is advertising with them so don't want to be supporting other car dealers maybe but not sure really!

I wonder if this is a tt for tat exclusion (come, on JA606, don't start!!)
www.pressgazette.co.uk
"National newspaper reporters were refused entry to football press boxes over the weekend as news organisations failed to reach a deal with the Premier League and Football League over new media accreditation rules.
According to the Times, journalists were forced to cover matches from the stands - rather than the Press Box - and by making use of broadcast reports".
Could it be that the Sun is saying "no press box, no shirt advertising photos?"
Just a thought..

Maybe, that sounds about right......another possibility, I suppose, is that your home shirt sponsor isn't allowed to advertise away even when the home shirt can still be used....
Confused ? So am I....
Either way, it seems petty and money, no doubt, will be the cause of the problem. It usually is where football's concerned.

Another Blade here, just put a £2 bet on Man Utd for the Prem, Leicester for the Champ, Blades for League 1 and Rotherham for League 2 which stands to win me £2574 when the inevitable happens and those 4 teams reign victorious at the end of the season. My mate has done exactly the same but has bet on the Owls for League 1 instead of United.
So I'm hoping for a close battle for the title between the two Sheffield clubs, with Wednesday humiliatingly hammered on the final day to drop them down to 3rd allowing United to nick it with a last day win.
Ahh, pre season optimism...

William Hill my friend. I don't know, when you think about it the chances of all 4 of those teams winning their respective divisions are fairly slim. A fun punt though, helps keep my interest alive in non Blade affairs.
