Apparently it's in the People today that we are putting in a £4 M bid for Charlie Austin. I do rate him and not sure if there is any substance to this. I would love to see him at the CG I think he is our type of player. Would that be instead of Billy Sharp then? Or would Billy play him out wide?

4 million for a striker? He will need to score over 20 goals a season to justify that hefty price.

Well he certainly can get more than 20 goals, he can create something out of nothing and he can deliver a great ball. I take your point though Raymond....but how much is Chris Cohen worth as a midfielder? Playing at left back?

I think playing Cohen at LB is a last resort. Also he was only worth £500,000 so there is a little less expectation and a bit more adaptability when compared to a star striker signed for the transfer budget of two strong championship clubs.
Austin is class and he will grab goals at any club. However signing anyone for £4 million makes me extremely uneasy to be honest.
Anything above £2 million scares me. Purely for the stability (not just financially but also with the cohesion of the team).
