Reading were relegated from the Premier League for a reason last season --- they were just not good enough. So for a team that are aiming for promotion to the Premier League, the last thing that we need is to sign a bunch of Reading rejects who simply won't make the squad any better. No Noel Hunt, no Ian Harte, no Adam LeFondre, please. I am still unconvinced on BM, but he has done well so far and I hope that he can keep the good work up and stay away from the Reading rejects.

On the other hand you answered your own question. We are looking at getting promoted and the players listed did it. Anyway BM has shown he's willing to build a team and I like what he's doing. The odd older player is needed for experience.
As for Harte if you would read before posting you'd know he's already signed for Bournemouth.

I'm not worried about Hunt.
I imagine he'll be a squad player with McCormack and Smith being our first choice pairing.

Your post is wrong on two counts, OP
First logic - what you have said is almost as illogical as 'we want promotion from the Championship so we don't want any Arsenal Chelsea Spurs or Man C first teamers as they failed yto win the Prem, nor any Man U as ythey failed to woin the Champions lge
We want players who can get us out of this league and some of Readings did just that. Of course in a perfect world we'd like the squad to keep us up but that is not key atm, squad can be changed
Sercond BM knows how to pick a squsad to get promoted, you don't

Le Fondre ain't a reject! He moved up three divisions ffs, he was always gonna be a squad player. I agree about not wanting tool hunt, harte joined Bournemouth last week so that's daft aswell.
Really need a talisman up front, someone like Vydra

Are you not worried about Smith being first choice then?
Hunt has scored more goals in a season in the Prem than Smith has scored in League 1.

What most people fail to see is that if these players are so good, then why didn't Reading keep them? I mean, Reading are back in the NPC, so I'd imagine that they would try their best to keep everyone who they think will get them back to the PL, right?

I think Reading would be looking for players who can get'em back in prem, and keep'em there.

Shouldn't we aim the same, Leedsluvr?
