This year we could get 5 teams battling it out for the premier league here is my run down of the teams.
Manchester United:
With Sir Alex leaving many are expecting/hoping of a united wobble but I still fully expect us to be challenging for the title come may. Moyes premier league experience will hold him in good stead and though he may not have experience of a title challenge the players do and they know what is expected of them and what is required to push for the title. We don't need to strenghten massively a couple of good additions and some of the deadwood being cleared out is all thats needed.
Manchester City:
Like united a change in manager. Now I don't know much about Pellegrinni but players that have played for him speak very highly and the job he done at malaga was very good considering the financial mess they got there selves in. City have already started to strenghten with Fernandinho & Navas they may have lost out and Isco and lost a key man in Tevez but i'm sure they will strengthen more and after what you could call a nightmare season last year (Another poor CL showing, United running away with the title and losing in the F.A Cup final) you can be sure city will want to bounce back with a vengence.
Chelsea:
The special one returns which is why many believe Chelsea will become a force in the league again. After 2 poor league campaigns I think this is the first thing Mourinho will want to address as i'm sure he and Abramovich feel that chelsea should be challenging for the title and not just a champions league place. Chelsea have got rid of a lot of players off there wage bill and with the addition of Schurrle and the return of very successful loan spells for Lukaku & De Bruyne chelsea must feel they have the squad that can win the league. Also im sure it won't be long until Mourinho starts the mind games.
Arsenal:
For me arsenal have become like the wigan of the top half of the table. Battling for a CL spot season after season like wigan would battle to survive relegation season after season they would somehow always manage to do it. Now if we are lead to believe the arsenal bank account will take a 70M hit as they now say they have the financial muscle to go out and buy the top players. They are certainly getting linked with the right players but until they sign on the dotted line arsenal fans wont be convinced. I do feel that a few top quality buys can make arsenal a title contender but they do have to buy or like Wigan finally go a season to far and there luck runs out.
Tottenham Hotspur:
Spurs for me can challenge for the title. When AVB finally got his team playing the way he wanted spurs become a very hard side to beat went on some good runs & i think the only team eventual winners united didnt beat in the league season. With a top quality striker a creative midfielder and keeping hold of bale spurs could become a title threat but i do feel that going for the Europa League will cause an issue if they really want to be challenging for the league.
All sensible comments & opinions are welcome and before Liverpool fans start I dont think you can be challenging for the league just yet i think you need to be concentrating on trying to sneak into a champions league position or just generally improving on last season.

People say this every year but it always ends up a two horse race.

Arsenal and Spurs won't be challenging for the title. They'll scrap for 4th place again. Title will be between Chelsea and City. Utd probably 3rd.
I'd also include Liverpool in the contest for 4th.

Realistically it will be between United, City & Chelsea with Arsenal and Spurs going for fourth again. Depending on whether they sort their centre backs out Liverpool could be in the mix for fourth as well.
Sky like to hype up the title race and try and convince people that there's 4-6 teams who can win it but it's never the case, there's usually two, three if we're lucky, i think the only time three clubs where in the race going into the final 10 games or so was 95/96 when United , Newcastle and Liverpool were separated by a few points but Newcastle and Liverpool fell away.

Hmmm not really, we finished about 10 points behind Arsenal and never really looked like winning it. Gooners were very strong that year.

It was close right up until the last 3 games. It was only because we won 13 in a row, inc at OT, that the final pt difference was so big. We were immense in the run in, but United and Liverpool always were in with a sniff up until we beat Bolton then United.

Wasnt that the season Fergie said "they cannot keep winning" then we did?

Really? need to watch the old season review on YT i think because i don't remember it being particularly close with us ending fairly weakly and Liverpool knocking 2nd towards the end. If not then fair enough.
I always regard a title race has teams chopping and changing positions until the end of the season, like '95, '96, '99, '08 and '12 not one team winning the title comfortably with one or two putting them under slight pressure but falling away.
