Safety for Mercedes pair not a concern (?)

http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/news/12433/8801439/FIA-to-allow-F1-s-race-drivers-to-take-part-in-Young-Driver-Test-in-wake-of-tyre-failures

Mercedes were banned from the young drivers test, now the rules have changed and the penalty increased, Mercedes GP, one of the teams that suffered at Silverstone from a potentially fatal tyre failure are still banned.

So it doesn't matter to the FIA if a Mercedes GP driver is killed at the next race after the tests?

Seems not.

Seeing as the rules of the test have been changed and after the disaster of Silverstone one might expect some common sense from the FIA.

Apparently, not so.

Imagine the death of a Mercedes driver caused by tyre failure at the Grand Prix after these tests.

A large amount of the blame will lie with the FIA, arguably, 100%, Mr Todt and his friends can sleep with that?

The FIA's, image is intact!

It disgusts me that the FIA do not allow Mercedes to take part in this test, which is now essential to improve safety.

Mercedes should get vocal in the press now about how the ban is compromising their Health and Safety requirements.
This is like making two building site workers work without hard hats while everybody else is allowed to abide by the Health and Safety at Work Regulations.

I hope both Hamilton and Rosberg, whose lives, it would appear are being deliberately put at risk by a whim of the FIA, have strong words to say about this dangerous and life-threatening decision to them from people in nice blazers.

""Speaking in an statement released on Monday evening, FIA President Jean Todt made clear that the events of Sunday's British GP - when five cars experienced tyre blow-outs - represented a "genuine safety concern for the drivers".

Perhaps he should have added, "Unless they drive for Mercedes, in which case I don't give a flying fig".

Hmmm... So if they changed the tyres after the merc test, merc would be the only team to benefit?

Considering Mercedes didn't know what tyres they were testing, how would they benefit?

"Hmmm... So if they changed the tyres after the merc test, merc would be the only team to benefit? "

Er,... if I understand you right, wouldn't ferrari have benefited?
Wouldn't McLaren have benefited?
Wouldn't Torro Rosso have benefited?
Wouldn't the drivers have benifited because their lives would not have been put at risk?
Oh, yes, Mercedes would have benifited because like the other teams , their drivers would not have been put in a position where the risk the FIA and Pirelli forced them to take is, as Hamilton said, unacceptable.
Now, thanks to the FIA, Mercedes drivers can carry on taking an unacceptable risk.

Personally, I really hope Rosberg and Hamilton get very vocal in the press over this.
