Sending Off Odds

I thought I would give odds on the 1st player to be sent off in the new season.

Alan Smith 2/1 - Unlikely to start a match but he always up for a scrap with the opposition's meanest and hardest player, he can get sent off in 5 minutes as sub quite easy.

Dean Lewington 3/1 - Our ginger whinger is favourite for the most yellow cards and with an odd rash challenge is bound to collect a few reds as well.

Robbo 5/2 - He doesn't seem to have mellowed and is no doubt on a few referees cards (but not at Xmas). Is sure to be sent to the stands.

Gary MacKenzie 4/1 - Fond of the Glasgow kiss, he can become unbalanced and strike out against a wily attacker. His odds would be shorter but likely to go to Blackpool.

Stephen Gleeson 5/1 - He has calmed down a bit and he become more mature, but who knows when the red mist will descent.

Antony Kay 7/1 - Has been apologetic about his red cards and may have turned over a new leaf. Will wait to see.

Luke Chadwick 10/1 - Not prone to be sent off but has been schooled in the Man Utd art of tackling, which can mean taking the man rather than the ball.

Izale McLeod 12/1 - Another unsure of playing time, but possible frustration may lead to the long walk, especially if not scoring.

Bar 15/1

I also enter MK Dons as the favourites to win the dirtiest team award, them referees just don't like us. Give them some Bovril at half time.

I reckon at 7/1 is very generous for Kay, do pre-season games count or just the League games?

It's unusual for anyone to get send off in the friendlies and I was tempted to include it, but I will stick with the league & cups.

MacKenzie's odds scratched , he's signed for Blackpool.

I'll have 50p on Anthony Kay.

Can I also have 1p on no-one getting sent off unti Christmas, I know its not a high stake, but the odds must be astronomical

Well I never said they are betting odds but if you pop down the bookies I am sure they would offer something similar.

With all out-goings will there be any players to give odds on!

McKenzie gone, Gleeson under offer. Why doesn't anyone want Kay or Smith?

It's OK we still have Robbo (or do we )

Bill "Why doesn't anyone want Kay or Smith?" why do you think?

Would you buy them?

Moocamp, it was a plantive plea for someone to buy them, then Robbo would have a bit more cash to either convince Gleeson to stay or get some better players in.

Pete said last year if they didn't win then this would be a year of consolidation. If he is sticking with that, this would be an ideal time for Robbo to go out and trawl the minor leagues looking for some useful young talent he could bring in. If he then signed them on a 5 year contract, he would be able to build the team around them gradually phasing out the old guard.
